Thomas Ratliff

 

Thomas Ratliff, Republican candidate for the Texas State Board of Education, today announced the endorsement of State Representative Jim Pitts, who chairs the House budget-writing committee.

In his endorsement of Ratliff, Representative Pitts said, "Thomas Ratliff and his family have been strong advocates for public education for many years. He understands the problems facing teachers and our public schools, and will bring a fresh perspective to tackling the important issues facing the State Board of Education."

"Thomas and his wife, Stacy, have been active in their children's education and I am proud that Thomas wants to take his parental involvement to the State Board of Education. I look forward to working with him for the benefit of the schoolchildren of Texas."

Mr. Ratliff said of the endorsement, "Chairman Pitts has a proven track record as a fiscal conservative and a leader of the Texas House that puts politics aside in order to do what's best for Texas. I am honored to have his support."
